All special uplifts suspended
WDC have suspended all special uplift requests until further notice. This is due to major mechanical problems with our waste disposal contractor.
Existing bookings
If you have already booked an uplift, please note that it will not take place at this time. This applies to all items, even if your booking does not include sofas or soft furnishings.
You have two options:
• Wait: We will pause your collection and complete it once the service resumes.
• Refund: You can request a refund by contacting the Contact Centre.
Recycling centres
Our two recycling centres are still open, but they cannot accept sofas or soft furnishings until further notice. This includes armchairs, upholstered chairs, and stools.
WDC do not currently have a date for when the service will start again. Wdc will update this page as soon as we have more information.
Before you book an uplift, why not donate your large household items you no longer need instead. If you items are still in good condition you can have them collected . Visit: https://www.zerowastescotland.org.uk/res.../recycle-scotland for an online form and more information on the scheme.
