Why think about the Mortgage to Rent Scheme/Mortgage to Shared Equity?

The Mortgage to Rent or Mortgage to Shared Equity Scheme may be able to help you if you are an owner-occupier in mortgage difficulties and you are in danger of having your house repossessed. Under the Mortgage to Rent Scheme the Scottish Government can arrange for a Housing Association, such as Knowes HA, to buy your home and for you to continue to live there as a tenant paying a social rent. Under the Mortgage to Shared Equity Scheme the Scottish Government may purchase up to 30% of your property and you can continue to live there as an owner occupier.

If you want to know more about the schemes you can obtain information from Scottish Government at -

 or email  HOSF@gov.scot

or telephone 0300 244 1093

You must get independent advice before you apply and this can be obtained from various sources – see the information in benefit help and money advice section and on the www.mygov.scot website.
