Your Right to Buy
As Knowes is a charity, they are not required to sell their homes under Right to Buy legislation unless existing tenants have a Preserved Right to Buy. Only tenants who were with Knowes at the point of transfer from Scottish Homes in 1998 and have remained a tenant, will have a Preserved Right to Buy. It will be marked on your tenancy agreement with us if you have the preserved right to buy.
This is explained in your Tenant Handbook. If you are unsure please contact your housing officer.
If you do wish to buy your home and you have the Right to Buy then please contact the Finance Section for an application form and a copy of the booklet Your Right to Buy your home.
The staff in the Finance section will be able to assist you in filling in the form and answering any queries you may have.
Further details can be found in Knowes 'Right to Buy' policy.
