Picture this "A place to be proud of" - Faifley attacks litter and promotes environmental awareness.
Knowes and Faifley Housing Associations have been working in partnership with Community Links Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council, West Dunbartonshire Greenspace, The Choices Programme, Edinbarnet and St Joseph’s Primary Schools on a project that aims to raise awareness of the local wildlife and environmental issues in Faifley, as well as attacking the culture of dropping litter in the street.
Over the past four months Edinbarnet and St Joseph’s Primary Schools have participated in arts workshops and sessions with the local biodiversity officer and planting exercises at the wildlife trail, which was created as part of the project.
The children have also been involved in digital photography and translated their views creatively through the production of artwork that is now mounted onto the litterbins installed throughout Faifley.
The project culminated with an exhibition of the children’s work and the opening of the wildlife trail, which has inter operation panels designed by the school children.
